reisnowreportSki and snow bunnies rejoice!

Last week, REI announced their Snow Report iPhone App is back and now better than ever. Best of all, it’s still free.

Because REI recognizes most people have only a precious few vacation days to hit the slopes, they’ve created this integrative iPhone application to give travelers the vital information needed to make the most out of ski resorts.

The Snow Report uses GPS, Twitter, Google Maps, and weather reports to provide:

  • Current weather forecasts
  • Trail maps
  • Amount of trails open
  • Snowfall over the last 72 hours
  • Snow depth
  • Resort cams

reisnowreportmapOverall customer rating on iTunes: 3/5 stars (as of 11/23/09)

Possible Drawbacks: This application relies on participating ski resorts to consistently update information.

Verdict: Worth a try, it’s free! You can download it from the iTunes store.
