A Great Rosé for the Holidays: Gamay Rouge

As we enter the holiday season and prepare to welcome friends and family to celebrate, a question comes to mind: what kind of wine am I going to serve?

GamayRougeWineIf you are getting sick of always serving the same white wines, here’s a new wine recommendation under $20: V. Sattui Gamay Rouge.

This bright and fruity Rosé from the Napa Valley makes a great refreshing wine for the holidays. Not only would you be attracted by its shiny color, but the sweet flavors are really fruitful. The hints of cherry and ripe strawberry will make a perfect match for your holiday plates. If you want to pair it with cheese, go for Brie, perhaps a triple-crème style.

An interesting thing is its grape. In California, they’ve been calling it Napa Gamay for years, but new findings are revealing the grape is actually Valdiguié and does not come from the French Gamay. So starting next year you might see a slightly different text on the label.

But for now, enjoy this great wine selection and enjoy the holidays!
