Thank you Douglas for your comment and I completely agree with you, San Miguel is still a very safe place despite the violence in some areas of Mexico. I love this place also because of the rich arts and culture. All the best.

San Miguel is a truly beautiful place. For anyone considering a trip to Mexico it should be on the short list. It is peaceful and safe with a wealth of cultural opportunities.

Thank you for your comment, Andy. Not a lot of people realize that Mexico produces great wines, mainly in the states of Baja California and Coahuila. These excellent wines are not only available throughout Mexico, but in many countries around the world. If you are visiting Mexico during the summer it can be very hot so try a refreshing white wine like the Blanc de Blancs from LA Cetto vineyards. For a nice Mexican dinner with grilled red meats, go for the Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot from Casa Madero, the oldest winery in the Americas. Enjoy your travels in San Miguel de Allende.

oh yes, what a wonderful place it is. I have been looking for a place to visit in Mexico that is not your typical travel destination. Thank you for the info. This will be my next trip to Mexico for sure.
What kind of Mexican wine do you recommend while visiting such beautiful places?

Thanks
