How to Remove Red Wine Stains from Clothing

Sooner or later, you’ll have red wine spilled all over your white or light colored clothes. If you’re like me, you are a red wine magnet!
The key to removing wine stains is taking care of the problem right away. Here are a few tips:

Club Soda- Ask your waiter for a glass of club soda and a cloth napkin. Soak the napkin in the liquid and gently pat the stain. I tried this on a pair of khaki pants once and it actually worked. But, don’t forget to soak and wash your clothes as soon as you get home because the club soda is just used to keep the stain from setting.
White Wine- In a pinch, you can always try the pour and dab technique with a glass of white wine. Whether it works or not will depend upon how fast you get to the stain as well as the fabric soiled. I’ve also heard this works well if you use it in conjunction with baking soda.
Stain Stick/Wipes- If you’re foresighted you’ll carry one of these with you at all times. There are plenty of brands on the market, so it’s just a matter of personal preference. I’ve found that Shout Wipes work, but I need to remember to carry them!
Do you have any suggestions for getting red wine out of fabric? What tips or products can you recommend?

Hi, thanks for a useful article. Question: can you let me know please, if you got the image of the wine spilling from a stock image website, which one you got it from – I’d like to purchase a bigger image of this. Thank you!
